We are a small family business that has started out doing local powwows through the Midwest in 2023 on a journey of hope and healing through creativity, laughter, culture and community. We are Kickapoo PROUD!

We also pride ourselves on our edgy humor, and making folks laugh and smile, because we all know there is nothing that takes you back to the rez like hearing our people’s resilient and unmistakable native laugh. Laughter really is that GOOD MEDICINE.

REZWEAR stands out from basic stereotypes as an original brand with “edgy humor” uniquely savage and funny as fck! The artistic expressions that REZWEAR creates are defined by acceptance of individuality and breaking free of stereotypical social ignorance through a personal journey of healing and spiritual growth.

MY PERSONAL JOURNEY:

As a child of sexual assault I have struggled my entire life with my identity as a pale skinned mixed blood raised native on and off of the Kickapoo reservation. Off of the rez life is a constant barrage of ugly comments, dirty looks and the never ending...”you’re NOT an Indian” that 99% of the time comes from non-natives (like...seriously… WTF?) Surviving a lifetime of abuse, poverty, violence and disability did not scar me as much as hating my own reflection has. I was left fighting an internal battle with mental illness that had stolen everything I’ve ever loved.

THEN,

I went home, to K-Rez to bury my mother and it took the saddest moment of my life, to understand that when I turned my back on my culture, my spirit became weak and wounded. So, now I FIGHT, for healing and acceptance.

As a survivor, I find the greatest healing through creating all of my own designs, sharing laughter and celebrating my native culture. And I Thank you all for helping me on my journey of healing, I am grateful.

To return the good medicine REZWEAR promotes ACCEPTANCE and supports mental health awareness, wellbriety, LGBTQ2, tribal victim services, MMIW and seeks to hire survivors of violence that are rebuilding their lives just as I was when my son and I created REZWEAR.
